Brandon Story

Savannah, TX

Director Candidate - Elm Ridge Water Control and Improvement District

As a seventh-generation Texan from the Lubbock area, I bring a deep-seated appreciation for community and service, shaped by my family's local heritage. My educational journey led me from Panola College to a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Lubbock Christian University in 2001.  I completed by MBA from Texas A&M-Commerce in 2004.

My 22-year tenure in the auto finance sector has endowed me with extensive experience in collections, budgeting, employee management and process improvement – all of which provide a solid foundation for fiscal responsibility and strategic planning.  Over the past four years, my dedication to community service found an outlet in my role as a Board Member for the Savannah Community Association.  During this time, I have served in various capacities, such as President, Vice-President and Director at Large charged with following the happenings at the Water District. I am proud to report I have contributed to substantial positive changes in maintaining amenities,  establishing and updating community policies, and boosting overall community engagement.

Beyond professional and community roles, my commitment extends to my personal life, where I actively participate in St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, and as a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  I am also the Vice-President of the Denton Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, reflecting a broad spectrum of interests and leadership capabilities with a focus on Patriotism and the Founding Fathers.

My family, anchored by my wife Lisa, a school teacher and licensed attorney, and our three children, provides a strong support system and a personal stake in the well-being of our community.  Our family has resided in Savannah/Elm Ridge for over 18 years, having literally seen it grow up before our eyes.

My candidacy for the Elm Ridge Board of Directors is driven by a clear vision for improvement: Holding down taxes where possible, enhancing community relations with area stakeholders and HOAs, injecting fresh perspectives that an outsider can bring, promoting transparency and addressing conflicts of interest which may exist. My experiences, both professional and community-focused, underscore my commitment to fostering a thriving Elm Ridge Community.

I ask for your support on election day, May 4, 2024.
